According to official statistics for October 2018, the number of Japanese travelers increased by 61.7% to 290,500 for South Korea, by 10.4% to 103,700 for Hong Kong and by 13.4% to 181,800 for Taiwan on a year-on-year basis. Japanese travelers for all of the three destinations were down due to a series of natural disasters in Japan, but the demands recovered in October.
