ANA and JAL announced that both of the airlines have received around 10% more international flight bookings for this coming Golden Week holiday period from April to 27 to May 6 than a year ago. The booking rates are 70% or higher.
ANA increased international flight bookings by 13.4% to 193,192 with the booking rate of 70.6%, and including LCC Peach Aviation, bookings were up 31.3% to 270,485. Bookings on Honolulu flights particularly increased by 1.5 times to record-high 15,993, which were also about 1.2 times more than 2019.
JAL’s international flight bookings were up 9.4% to 177,229 with the booking rate of 72.5%. Bookings of all destinations except Southeast Asia exceeded those a year ago, and large growths were found on Hawaii and Guam flights with a 22.3% increase to 16,318, Europe and Middle East flights with a 25.9% increase to 18,428 or Taiwan with a 32.8% increase to 12,302.
Domestic flight bookings were divided into light and darkness between JAL and ANA. ANA increased those by 8.3% to 1,059,938 with the booking rate of 62.2%, while JAL decreased those by 8.3% to 820,247 with the booking rate of 62.3%.
ANA saw more bookings on Okinawa flights with 14% up and Chugoku/Shikoku flights with 11% up particularly. On the contrary, JAL decreased bookings on Hokkaido flights by 15.1% or on Kansai flights by 19.9% compared to a year earlier.
