Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced that the number of Japanese overseas travelers was down 99.3% year on year to 10,700 only in June 2020, exceeding 10,000 for the first time since the regular Travel Advice and Warning Level 2 (Avoid non-essential travel) all over the world for Japanese citizens was issued.
According to OAG, an aviation date provider, international flight departures from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were down 87.8% to 2,610 in June and available seats were also down 88.4% to 564,699.
The half-year total reduced by 68.7% to 2,990,400.
