LINE is a SNS tool with the biggest growth of users in Japan in 2016, and the awareness of Instagram reaches 90%

The JustSystems’ survey on mobile & social media for 2016, which targeted 15 to 69 years old 1,100 users in Japan, finds that the usage rate of mobile phones was 72%, outnumbering 57.8% of PC. The usage rate were 63.4% for PC and 59.1% for mobile phone in January 2016.

The biggest growth of users was found in LINE with the usage rate of 61.9% in December 2016, which was higher than 47.3% in January 2016 and close to 74.1% for YouTube. The awareness rate of Instagram remarkably rose from 76.5% in January 2016 to 89.5% in December 2016.
