Based on official statistics data in 2016, Japanese travelers increased by 22.7% to 413,800 for Australia, by 10.1% to 302,927 for Canada and by 15.4% to 100,736 for New Zealand on a year-on-year basis.
Japanese travelers for Australia exceeded 400,000 for the first time in the past eight years since 2008. Those for Canada and New Zealand resulted in double-digit growths.

In December 2016 only, Japanese travelers were up 16% to 42,000 for Australia and 12.5% to 12,800 for New Zealand, but down 3.5% to 16,604 for Canada.
