Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese outbound travelers was down 36.2% to 978,900 in February 2024 compared to the same month 2019, though the result was about 100,000 more than January.
According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were still down 6.4% to 18,331, and available seats down 4.3% to 4.3 million compared to February 2019.
Haneda increased flights by 28.9% to 4.178 and available seats by 22.6% to 1,017,974, and Fukuoka also flights by 13.5% to 1,750 and available seats by 13.2% to 367,379. Narita and Kansai recovered to around 90% of 2019 in both flights and available seats.
