Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese overseas travelers in November 2019 was down 1.9% to year on year to 1,642,300, showing the first monthly reduction since March 2019.
The total for the first 11 months of 2019 was up 6.0% to 18,368,300. To accomplish the annual goal of 20 million, another 1,631,700 will be required in December. JTB has forecasted that Japanese overseas travelers are expected to record-high 762,000 in this coming New Year holiday period.
