Japan Tourism Agency announced that travel spending in Japan by international visitors in 2018 totaled 4,518.9 billion JPY on a definite value basis, 12.5 billion more spending than 2017.
By market, top was China with 1,545 billion JPY (a share of 34.2%), followed by South Korea with 588.1 billion JPY (13%) and Taiwan with 581.7 billion JPY (12.9%). Spending a visitor increased from 152,594 JPY preliminarily to 153,029 JPY on a definite value basis.
