Kansai Innovation Center (MUIC) and DMO Kyoto has launched a demonstration program to encourage inbound travelers visiting Kyoto City to use ‘Oyraa,’ an interpretation app, to avoid troubles in traveling in advance and as one of the over-tourism countermeasures.
The app supports inbound travelers through direct conversation with an interpreter on voice or video communication. The service can be used from one minute at the shortest for 24 hours on 365 days without booking.
The demonstration will be carried out by November 30 this year, and free service of the app for 10 minutes are available to up 1,000 travelers. The app can be downloaded with QR code on flyers that are delivered by accommodations in Kyoto City or an DMO Kyoto information desk.
