Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced that the number of Japanese overseas travelers were 171,500 in June 2022, about 40,000 more travelers than 134,013 in May and more than 100,000 for three months in a row.
Compared to June 2019 (1,520,993 travelers), the result was still down 88.7%.
According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were up 58.8% year on year to 3,853, providing 932,436 seats in total (58% more than a year ago).
