Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced that the number of Japanese overseas travelers was down 98.1% year on year to 30,700 in November 2020, plunging from 1.64 million a year ago.
No large increase was seen in November, despite ease of quarantine for Japanese business travelers after returning to Japan and start of pre-test program for Japanese travelers in Hawaii.
According to OAG, an aviation date provider, international flight departures from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were down 86.5% to 2,804 in November, and available seats were also down 86.5% to 641,138, which were almost unchanged from October
