Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced that the number of Japanese overseas travelers was down 98.2% year on year to 37,100 in August 2020. as the Infection Warning Level 3 (Do not travel) almost the whole world for Japanese citizens was still maintained.
According to OAG, an aviation date provider, international flight departures from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were down 87.9% to 2,788 in August and available seats were also down 88.3% to 623,101.
