Team Europe Tourism Promotion Committee, which consist of Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA)’s member companies, tourism offices of Europe in Japan, tour operators, airlines and other related-organizations to Europe, has selected ’30 Beautiful Villages in Europe’ to develop new destinations in Europe and to create a new market.
Forty-one villages in 28 countries were first selected from the first candidates of 157 villages by vote of 300 travel staff, and then a selection committee has finally selected 30 villages according to the following four benchmarks: 1. Low media exposure and no package tour 2. A wide variety of selections from entire Europe 3. Tourist attractions travel companies can appeal to consumers 4. No access and infrastructure barriers in product creation
The villages for creation of new products will be assigned to 16 member companies in early July. After each of them performs an inspection tour to find out leisure resources in early September, photo exhibition and promotional seminars will be offered in Tourism EXPO Japan 2015 in the middle of September. New products for the designated beautiful villages will be sold for the first half of 2016.
