Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced that the number of Japanese overseas travelers were 379,200 in November 2022, just about 30,000 more travelers than 349,557 in the previous month probably because of weaker yen and high fuel surcharges.
Compared to November 2019 (1,642,333 travelers), the result was still down 79.6%.
According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were up 215.6% year on year to 8,742, providing 2,058,746 seats in total (204.3% more than a year ago).
The following graph shows Japanese overseas travelers by month.
