Based on official statistical data for 2018, the number of Japanese travelers increased by 0.2% for Hawaii to 1,571,200 and by 1.2% for Okinawa to 6,938,600. The monthly result for Guam, however, was continuously down 9.5% to 561,600 on a year-on-year basis.
Japanese travelers to Okinawa were record-high for tow years in a row, and the growth rate was bigger than that for Hawaii. Guam improved the reduction rate from 2017.
