Private and public players in Kansai area, including Universal Studio Japan (USJ), are jointly developing a collective app ‘Travel Contents APP’ for international visitors, which is operated by a Taiwanese company. The app will collectively provide public information, such as transportation, tourism information, including food, shopping or sightseeing, in English, Chinese and Korean.
USJ will help the app increase users by giving its marketing know-how and support promotions and marketing surveys to develop new services or products in the future.
USJ said, “It will be difficult to attract international travelers with separated promotions, as international competition is likely to be harder after the pandemic. The app is expected to be an effective platform for international visitors by connecting stakeholders.”
