ANA and JAL resulted in lower load factors of their domestic flights in the summer holiday period (August 7 to 16 2020) than initially expected due to re-spread of COVDI-19 nationwide, although they considerably reduced flight frequencies.
ANA reduced domestic flight passengers by 69.6% year on year to 478,650 on 1,464,721 available seats (-20.7%), and the load factor resulted in 32.7%. International flight passengers were down 96.1% to 12,501 on 45,802 available seats (-87.6%), and the load factor was just 27.3%.
JAL also reduced domestic flight passengers by 66.9% to 390,102 on 1,051,332 available seats (-22.7%), and the load factor fell into 37.1%. JAL carried 8,179 international flight passengers (-97.1%) on 32,455 available seats (-89.4%) with the load factor of 25.2%.
