Japanese outbound travelers were up 16.7% year on year to 1.4 million in March 2025

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese outbound travelers in March 2025 was up 16.7% year on year to 1,423,400, about 240,000 more travelers than February 2025. 

The result was the second most travelers after COVID-19, following 1,437,126 in August 2024. Compared to March 2019, it was still down 26.2%.
