Weathernews has forecasted that cherry blossoms are expected to start blooming first in Tokyo on March 18, followed by Fukuoka and Yokohama on March 20.
Blooming is expected to start in western and eastern Japan in late March, in northern Tohoku in early April and in Hokkaido in the middle of April.
Weathernews has forecasted that full blooming will come five to ten days after starting blooming in many places, and full blooming will be earlier than usual nationwide. In northern Japan, full blooming is expected to come one week earlier than usual.
Blooming is expected to start in Ueno Park (Tokyo) on March 19, in Maizuru Park (Fukuoka) on March 20, in Kumamoto Castle (Kumamoto) on March 21, in Arashiyama (Kyoto) on March 25, in Hirosaki Park (Aomori) on April 12 and in Goryokaku Park (Hokkaido) on April 18.
