JAL reduced international flight bookings by 2.5% to 332,796 because it also reduced available seats by 4.5% to 382,001 during for the 2016-2017 New Year holidays (December 22 2016 to January 3 2017) The booking rate was 87.1%, 1.7 higher points than a year earlier.(Results as of December 16 2016)
The booking rates on Europe, Southeast Asia and Guam routes exceeded 90%, and on transpacific, Oceania, China, Taiwan and Hawaii 80%. The busiest days will be December 22 for flights from Japan with the booing rate of 94.7% and December 29 for flights to Japan with the booking rate of 95.1%.
JAL Group (JAL、J-AIR、JTA、RAC、JAC、HAC) increased domestic flight bookings by 14.1% year on year to 1,073,118 on 1,499,101 available seats (+3.7%), and the booking rate was 71.6%. The remarkable growth was found on Okinawa flights (+23.5%), and the booking rate was the highest with 79.2%. The busiest days will be December 29 for flights from Tokyo (90.3%) and January 3 for flights to Tokyo (82.5%).
