Japan, China and South Korea agree to boost cultural exchanges with a goal to increase trilateral travelers to 40 million in total by 2030

Leaders of Japan, China and South Korea agreed to increase exchange of people among the tree nations to 40 million by 2030, designating ‘Culture Exchange Years’ for the next two years, which was stipulated in a joint communique at the the first Summit in the last four years and a half.

One of the initiatives is to increase international students for a university exchange program ‘Campus Asia’ to 30,000 by the end of 2030. A variety of exchange  programs for young people will be supported by the three nations. 

In addition, they have shared an idea to extend a platform for mutual understandings and exchanges through the current initiatives, such as Cultural Cities in East Asia, Japan-CHina-South Korea Art Festival or Japan-China-South Korea Culture Contents Industry Forum.
