Hyatt-affiliated Japanese style ryokan will open in Yufu, Yakushima and Hakone in 2026, offering 30 to 50 luxury rooms

Kiraku, a Japanese accommodation developer, revealed that a joint venture with Hyatt Hotels Corporation will open luxury ryokan ‘ATONA’ in Yufu in Oita Prefecture, Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture and Hakone in Kanagawa Prefecture in 2026. Kiraku and Hyatt signed a joint venture contract in 2022 to develop new-typed onsen ryokan targeting global travelers, especially 44 million Hyatt members.

An ATONA brand ryokan accommodates 30 to 50 rooms, separating dinner from stay and offering local experiences. They plans to develop the brand in other areas as well.

Kiraku also announced the first close of ATONA Impact Fund at 10 billion yen, adding Takenaka, a major Japanese general construction contractor, as a new investor. They aims to raise 20 billion yen in total ultimately.
