Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese outbound travelers was up 14.4% year on year to 1,175,100 in November 2024, but still down 28.4% compared to the same month 2019.
According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were down 1.3% to 20,547 and available seats up 0.6% to 4,819,954 compared to November 2019.
Haneda increased flights by 31.9% to 4,626 and available seats by 25.5% to 1,142,302, and Fukuoka Airport flights by 28.2% to 1,260 and available seats by 40.5% to 406,352. Kansai International Airport recovered to a 5.9% decrease in flights and a 2.6% decrease in available seats.
