Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that Japanese overseas travelers were up 1.3% year on year to 1,545,000 in September 2016. The growth rate was lower than 10% in August 2016 mainly because of worse holiday sequences than a year ago. The total for the first nine months of 2016 was up 4.9% to 12,719,000. In 2016, the monthly growths were found in every month except May.
