Jalan,net, the largest online travel booking site powered by Recruit, announced at jalan Forum 2015 that it intends to extend the business to entire travel process in addition to accommodation booking and dynamic package plans with ANA and JAL. Jalan.net has already begun offering booking opportunities for local activities in Japan.
Also, Recruit announced that Recruit ID membership would be enriched by integrating with point service ‘Ponta’ in maybe this coming winter. The integration will allow Recruit ID members to take advantage of the ID at 23,400 shops nationwide, and another merit will be addition of more than 60 million Ponta members to Recruit ID membership. One of the business strengths for jalan,net is ID linkage with different services offered by Recruit, according to Recruit.
For the inbound travel market, jalan.net is enhancing the business by increasing affiliate partners and upgrading the site for foreign travelers to Japan. By the end of FY2015, another four languages for Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and France will be available, totaling eight languages.
At the Forum, jalan.net also announced that distribution of accommodation bookings for travel in Japan amounted to 689.1 billion JPN in FY2014 ending March 31 2015, which was 27% more than FY2013 or almost doubled from 339.2 billion JPN in FY2009.
