TKTS, a New York-based discount ticketing service, opened its first boxes in Shibuya Hikarie, Tokyo on August 29 and in Nankai Terminal, Osaka on September 5. The boxes, operated by Longrun Planning of Japan, deals with many kinds of entertainment tickets covering Japanese traditional performances like Kabuki or No, musicals, concerts, sports or exhibitions.
A user buys a ticket and picks it up at the boxes after payment. The boxes provide beginners with concierge service to help them find entertainment they like.
Managing Tickets Today particularly for international visitors to Japan today, Longrun Planning will shift all of them to TKTS both for international visitors and Japanese audiences.
