Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced that the number of Japanese overseas travelers were 50,800 in October 2021, about 20,000 more travelers than a year ago, but 96.9% fewer travelers than two years ago (1,663,474 travelers).
According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were down 8.6% year on year to 2,677 in October 2021, and available seats were down 1.4% to 653,998 in total. Narita and Haneda increased both flights and available seats, while four other airports still suffered from the decline.
