The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO)’s statistics in March 2017 finds that Japan received 40,000 visitors from Australia (-4.2%), 130,900 from U.S. (+12.6%) and 31,400 from U.K. (-9.6%). The result from U.S. was record-high on a single month basis.
The table below shows changes of visitors from Australia, U.S. and U.K. in the past 12 months:
JNTO analyzed that growth of visitors from U.S. resulted from more exposures of a variety of tourism resources on many kinds of media. Shift of the Easter break from late March last year to early April this year affected both of the Australian and U.K. markets.
